Grand Farm announced a partnership with Churches United for the Homeless to grow and donate fresh produce to support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Fargo-Moorhead region.
As part of the initiative, Grand Farm will plant a half-acre of sweet corn at its Innovation Campus during the 2026 growing season. The crop is expected to yield between 7,000 and 10,000 ears of corn, all of which will be donated to Churches United for the Homeless for distribution through its food pantry network.
Churches United for the Homeless will coordinate volunteers to hand-harvest the corn in mid-August and will provide transportation to distribute the harvest across the region.
Located near Casselton, North Dakota, Grand Farm’s Innovation Campus is a 590-acre site where growers, startups, researchers, corporations, government, and investors come together to develop, test, and refine agricultural technologies in a real-world farm setting. Designed as a space for collaboration and learning, the campus enables early-stage companies to validate products, established organizations to explore new approaches, and partners across the ecosystem to generate real-world data that informs the future of agriculture.
This sweet corn initiative builds on that foundation—demonstrating how the Innovation Campus can be leveraged not only for advancing AgTech solutions, but also for directly supporting community needs. By utilizing land and resources on-site, the project connects agricultural production with food access efforts in a tangible and locally driven way.
The collaboration highlights broader opportunities to strengthen connections between agricultural producers and community organizations. Efforts like this create a pathway for fresh, locally grown food to reach individuals and families who may otherwise face barriers to access, while exploring how similar models could be expanded across the region.
