The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council is now accepting project proposals for fiscal year 2027. To submit a proposal for soy checkoff-funding consideration, email a cover sheet, full project proposal and budget template to projects@mnsoybean.com by 5 p.m. on June 30, 2026.
The Council is seeking projects in the following core areas:
- Increasing and diversifying market access;
- Effectively communicating soy checkoff projects, timely news and information throughout Minnesota; and promoting agricultural youth education and outreach;
- Promotion outreach;
- Creating new uses and developing value-added products for soybeans;
- Leadership development;
- and influencer education
Successful research proposals will increase profitability to Minnesota soybean farmers, while promoting, educating and increasing awareness of Minnesota’s nearly 26,000 soybean producers. The Council is also seeking projects highlighting the importance of soybeans and soybean products to industry, influencers and consumers.
“We’re looking forward to reviewing a wide variety of proposals that show the various ways soybeans are important to Minnesota,” MSR&PC Chair Gail Donkers said. “The proposals we receive help us open the door to new markets by improving our profitability and expanding our audience.”
The RFPs will be discussed and acted upon within Council committees and then brought forward for recommendation to the full MSR&PC board during its August 2026 board meeting.
