Fargo tobacco store fails compliance check for second time in a year

FARGO (KFGO-KVRR) — The City of Fargo conducted a tobacco compliance test Wednesday, July 29.

According to the city, 37 businesses were checked and 32 passed, resulting in an 86% compliance rate.

Five businesses failed the test:

• Discount Smoke Shop – 2434 University Dr. S.
• Royal Liquors – 3051 25th St. S.
• Royal Liquors – 2726 Broadway N.
• Smokes 4 Less – 3501 13th Ave. S.
• Vape Time – 1833 University Dr. S.

This is the second time this year that the Smokes 4 Less location on 13th Avenue S. has failed a compliance check.

The first time a business fails a check they are fined a $500 administration fee.

For the second offense in a year, the business has their tobacco license suspended for three days along with the $500 administrative fee.

A third offense within a year increases the license suspension to ten days.
