KINDRED, N.D. (KFGO-KVRR) – The town of Kindred is kicking off their annual Barley Days this weekend.
The community event has attractions for kids of all ages.
On Friday, kids were taking part in a basketball shooting contest.
They also had a petting zoo with cows and sheep, various fair food items, and a place where kids could practice their lasso skills.
For adults, this year marks the seventh anniversary for the Barley Days Beer Tasting, where local brewers will be offering free samples for people to try.
“We’ve got, I believe, nine local breweries and vendors coming out,” said event organizer Lydia Ronningen. “There’s free samples, you can try new beers, you can even purchase some. We’re really excited about this. So that too just kind of keeps growing, and again, that kind of ties into our barley heritage here.”
The Barley Days Beer Tasting is being held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Following the beer tasting, there will be a street dance featuring a performance by Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome.
