During its June board meeting, the North Dakota Soybean Council elected its executive committee for the 2027 fiscal year. Evan Montgomery of Grand Forks was elected chairman, Ted Brandt of Enderlin was elected vice chairman, Jeremiah Undem of Oakes was elected secretary, and Dallas Loff of Wahpeton was elected treasurer.
Montgomery represents District 7, which includes Grand Forks and Traill counties. His family has raised soybeans since the 1980s, and they also operate a livestock operation that includes cattle and a large horse boarding and training facility. A graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in vocal performance, Montgomery is active in his community through the Brenna Township Board, the Grand Forks Master Chorale, and local theater. He also represents NDSC on the North Dakota Livestock Alliance Board.
“I appreciate the confidence of my fellow board members in electing me chairman,” said Montgomery. “NDSC is a farmer-led board, and I look forward to working alongside the board and staff to strengthen opportunities for North Dakota soybean farmers at home and in global markets.”
Brandt represents soybean producers in District 2, which includes Ransom and Sargent counties. He raises soybeans, corn, and wheat on his farm. Brandt is a graduate of North Dakota State University and is active with the Sheyenne Valley Trail Association. He also serves soybean producers nationally as a member of the U.S. Soybean Export Council’s Soy Excellence Center Global Advisory Panel for the 2026-27 term.
Undem represents soybean producers in District 3, which includes LaMoure and Dickey counties. His fifth-generation family farm near Oakes grows soybeans and corn, with occasional wheat and rye. Undem practices minimum tillage and strip tillage with a focus on soil health. A graduate of North Dakota State University with degrees in landscape architecture and environmental design, he also represents NDSC on the Soy Transportation Coalition board.
Loff was reelected as treasurer and represents District 1, Richland County. Loff has farmed soybeans, corn, and sugarbeets with his father and brother near Colfax for more than 20 years. He holds a degree in crop and weed sciences from North Dakota State University and has served on both township and school boards. Loff also represents NDSC on the North Central Soybean Research Program board.
