Nicholas Narveson (Grand Forks County Correction Center)
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO-KVRR) — The man convicted of murdering another inside a Grand Forks bar in 2024 has been sentenced.
Nicholas Narveson was sentenced to 60 years in prison, with 20 years suspended. He was found guilty of murder, terrorizing and reckless endangerment in June.
He was arrested after a shooting July 4, 2024 at Sledster’s Food and Brew in Grand Forks. Narveson drew his gun inside the bar and fired multiple shots at James Jorgenson, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Narveson fled from the bar on foot but was later found by police and arrested.
In addition to the 20 suspended years, he was also given credit for 390 days’ time served.
