FARGO (KFGO-KVRR) — The Fargo School Board vote on moving forward with the early design and planning phases for a new elementary school on the current Horace Mann site.
The project would replace historic Horace Mann Elementary and combine Horace Mann-Roosevelt and Madison attendance areas into one modern, centrally located school.
The project would include the construction of a new, three-section elementary school that would have around 445 students.
The project would be located on the Horace Mann campus and once completed, would allow for the closure of the existing Roosevelt and Madison school buildings. The estimated cost of the project is $45 million.
Students currently at Horace Mann would be temporarily moved to Washington, Roosevelt, or Madison until the new school would open in the fall of 2028.
