FARGO (KFGO) – A 911 call from someone watching a livestream on social media of a person appearing to struggle in a river led to a response at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Monday, May 12, by The Fargo Police Department and Fargo Fire. The caller reported that the incident was occurring by the Fargo Rail Bridge, which led officers to believe it was the Red River
Officers and fire crews responded to the reported location and searched the area but did not find anyone in the river. The follow-up investigation determined the individual had entered the Sheyenne River, not the Red River. The swimmer experienced some difficulty while in the water but was able to exit the river safely without assistance.
Officers contacted those involved and confirmed that everyone is safe and accounted for. At this time, no arrests or citations were made
