FARGO (KFGO) – The FAA is investigating a report that the crew of a small plane was illuminated by a green laser about eight miles from Hector International Airport in Fargo at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. The aircraft was a Pilatus PC 12.
The FAA in Chicago says the aircraft was at 3,500 feet. No one was hurt.
Last year, pilots across the country reported over 13,300 laser strikes. More than 300 pilots have reported eye injuries related to laser strikes since 2010.
People convicted of shining lasers at airplanes can face fines of up to $11,000 per violation.
