Moorhead woman died of ‘multiple sharp force injuries,” son charged with 2nd degree murder

MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Moorhead Police say preliminary autopsy results from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office have confirmed the identity of last week’s homicide victim as Receia Kollie. The cause of death has been listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.” The body was discovered in Receia Kollie’s south Moorhead home last Thursday night.

The suspect, 25-year-old James Kollie Jr., is the victim’s son. He was arrested in Wahpeton Friday night and has been charged with second-degree murder.

The police department is still asking for the public’s assistance in looking for the victim’s vehicle, a 2016 black Honda Pilot with Minnesota plates HFE 185.

Anyone who may have seen James Kollie between Tuesday and Friday is asked to call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660 and ask to speak to the on-duty Moorhead Police supervisor.
