DNR tracks avian influenza in wild birds
Domestic poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks) and wild birds are currently experiencing an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The strain is unlikely to affect people according to the CDC. Minnesota DNR is working in collaboration with the Board of Animal Health, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and other organizations to monitor the spread of this disease.
