Dave Decock, retired horticulturalist, takes IT2 listeners’ calls and provides them with his years of expertise. Whether it’s your lawn, garden, potted plants, trees, shrubs, apples, hydrangeas or some bug/slug – Dave has your answer!
On this episode:
Dave gets a call from a lakes area listener who seems to have developed some odd baseball to basketball sized rings in the shady area of his lawn. The listener thought it might be necrotic rings, but Dave asks a few questions – such as whether or not there were mushrooms around the ring – to rule out a lawn fungus known as “fairy ring.”
Callers also get their questions in about splitting day lilies and when would be the best time to transplant those easy growers to another part of the lawn.
You will also get a great “Well duh!” tip too. Dave advises those that want to trim apple or fruit tree branches that are getting low…to just take some of the fruit off!
