The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced today that a third round of 2019 Market Facilitation Program (MFP) payments will be going out at the end of this week.
These payments are to assist farmers suffering from damage due to trade retaliation by foreign nations.
MFP payments will be made by the Farm Service Agency (FSA) to producers.
The payments are based on a single county payment rate multiplied by a farm’s total planting of MFP-eligible crops in 2019.
Senator John Hoeven says real progress has been made in securing markets for producers over the past several weeks with the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) signing, the United States-China phase-one agreement, and the agreements with the European Union (EU) and Japan.
Hoeven voices his appreciation to the Administration’s work to get this MFP payment out which will help provide an important bridge for our producers while the trade agreements and agriculture purchases get going.
This the final round of MFP payments.
