FARGO (KFGO) – A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after an incident near downtown Fargo Tuesday afternoon.
Fargo Police said officers were called to the area of 1st Avenue N. and University Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m. on a report of an impaired man and found the man with a knife to his own throat. Officers used less-than-lethal devices to safely subdue the man who was taken to the hospital and treated for an injury to his neck.
Officers taped off a small area on 1st Avenue east of 13 1/2 Avenue N. while they investigated the incident.
The man’s injury is considered serious, but not life-threatening.
No officers were injured. The incident is under investigation.
