FARGO (KFGO) – North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, in advance of the announcement that he will run for President this Wednesday, has released a video along with a preliminary travel schedule that includes a number of key primary states.
The video, released on YouTube, touts Burgum’s accomplishments as a businessman and governor, and gives some insight into the issues he will focus on as he heads out on the trail in an effort to secure the Republican Party’s nomination, with an emphasis on domestic oil and energy production and shrinking the federal government. Burgum also alluded to his desire to avoid overheated political rhetoric in his campaign.
“Anger, yelling, infighting – that’s not going to cut it anymore. In North Dakota we listen with respect, and we talk things out. That’s how we can get America back on track,” Burgum says in the video.
Burgum also announced that he will be visiting Iowa the day following his Fargo announcement. He will be there on Friday as well, then move on to New Hampshire for events on Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11. A news release from the Burgum campaign says additional details about Burgum’s travel schedule will be released later.
