BISMARCK, N.D. – Fargo Davies held Jamestown scoreless for the first 6 minutes and 30 seconds and jumped out a 17-0 lead in the Class a girls basketball quarterfinals on Friday.
Davies saw that lead dwindle down to 6 at the half, eventually holding off the Blue Jays 56-46 from the Bismarck Events Center.
Ava Wild paced the Eagles 12 points and 7 rebounds, Brooklynn Koenig added 10 points and Taylor Fey chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Katie Trumbauer tailed 13 points for Jamestown. The Blue Jays finished 15-9 overall in their first state tournament appearance since 2014.
Davies (23-2 overall) moves into the semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. and will play the winner of Watford City/Grand Forks Red River.
