Two high scoring powerhouses of Region 1 nine-man football in the May-Port CG Patriots and the Tri-State Tigers squared off and did not disappoint. Although the game remained close in the early stages of the third quarter, a 42 point third period along with a string of 8 consecutive second-half touchdowns proved to be too much for the Tigers to handle. This victory for May-Port CG maintains their undefeated record this season and snaps Tri-State’s 3-game winning streak.
The two teams combined for over a thousand yards of offense and 122 points. May-Port CG senior QB, Sawyer Satrum came into tonight’s game with over 1,400 yards of offense through the first 4 contests this season and added 310 rushing yards, 100 passing yards, and 7 total touchdowns (5 rushing, 2 passing) to his season total. Tri-State’s QB, Derick Carl, also put up some stellar numbers with 3 rushing touchdowns on 145 yards as well as 3 more passing touchdowns on 210 yards. May-Port CG (5-0) will have a bye week next Friday and their next contest will be on October 9th on the road against LaMoure-Litchville/Marion. Tri-State (3-2) will look to get back to their winning ways next Friday at home against Hankinson.
