Say this about Donald Trump. If you’re loyal to his lies and corruption, he is loyal to you. Paul Manafort: Pardoned. Roger Stone: Pardoned. Charles Kushner: Pardoned. And worst of all, about 1500 people who violently tried to overturn a free and fair election on January 6: Pardoned.
Which brings us to Donald Trump’s endorsement of lapdog Mike Lindell in the race for Minnesota governor. Lindell would fetch any bone that Trump threw away for him.

Lindell made a name for himself as CEO of My Pillow, but he is best known as a huge election denier of the 2020 presidential election. Lindell’s bogus claims that the election was rigged are music to Trump’s ears.
Not amused by Lindell’s baseless accusations were Dominion and Smartmatic Voting Systems, which sued him.
Of course there is no evidence that the 2020 election was rigged, but to Trump, Lindell is “one of America’s greatest and most hard working patriots.” Nothing says being a patriot like trying to overturn an election.
That’s not the only thing that’s hurting Lindell. The man has more baggage than a Delta jumbo jet.
Lindell pushed a worthless treatment to fight Covid, was banned from Twitter, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports that the IRS placed a $6 million lien on Lindell’s Texas home and garnished his wages, that creditors are seeking more than $25 million from his MyPillow company, and that Lindell had not even registered to vote in Minnesota.
It’s both funny and sad that Lindell told the Tribune he didn’t even know if he is registered to vote in Minnesota.
Since that story came out about a week ago, Lindell has now reportedly registered.
It’s not as if Lindell is a proven vote getter. Three years ago, Lindell ran for chair of the Republican National Committee. Of the 167 votes cast, Lindell received a grand total of four of them.
Still, the race for the Republican nomination for Minnesota governor is fairly close between Lindell, Kendall Qualls and House Speaker Lisa Demuth. Because so many of Trump’s supporters follow him like sheep (take a look at the Republican Senate nomination in Texas), Lindell now has a legitimate chance to win the Minnesota Republican Primary on August 11.
That would be better than a birthday present for Minnesota Democrats. The latest poll by Mason-Dixon shows Lindell losing to Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar by a whopping 17%. Qualls and Demuth poll better, but they’re also in no position to defeat Klobuchar.
If Lindell is at the top of the Republican ticket, Christmas could come in early November for Minnesota Democrats. That’s because with Lindell as the nominee, Democrats would likely take total control of the Minnesota Legislature. Minnesota Democrats are salivating at the possibility.
–It’s hardly surprising to hear that Minnesota Representative Michelle Fischbach sends out more franked communications than any member of Minnesota’s congressional delegation. That was reported by the Minnesota Reformer. Franked communications are paid by taxpayers and cost members of Congress nothing.

According to the Reformer, Fischbach has spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars in franking money to send text messages supporting the frightening “Save America Act” (which would end our system of free and fair elections), to make radio ads to promote certain legislation, and to send out surveys on topics such as welfare benefits and aid to expectant mothers.
Coincidentally, Fischbach is the most invisible member of the Minnesota congressional delegation. She doesn’t do interviews with KFGO Radio, local television stations, and local newspapers. She also doesn’t hold public events.
There needs to be more scrutiny of the franking system, which is basically free public relations for members of Congress. Fischbach should do less franking, and make herself more available to the public and the news media.

–I really enjoyed watching the World Cup, but keeping the official timing from the fans was frustrating. Can you imagine watching the NFL, and not knowing how much time is left in the game?
–It was a real pleasure to meet May Pang, John Lennon’s former assistant and girlfriend, when she was in Fargo. She was charming and very friendly. Her photographs of Lennon were extraordinary.
After meeting her, I watched the documentary on Amazon about her relationship with Lennon, called, “The Lost Weekend.” As a big Beatles fan, I can say it’s terrific. It’s informative, enlightening and touching.
