VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 27-year-old man dead in Barnes County.
The crash happened on I-94 eight miles west of Valley City sometime after midnight Sunday. The Highway Patrol says dispatchers began receiving calls Saturday about someone walking along the Interstate.
Law enforcement made contact with the man, but he declined help. The last report came in shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday.
Around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, someone reported a body lying in the ditch. The Highway Patrol says there were pieces of a vehicle – including a large portion of the bug deflector – and the man’s body in the ditch.
No other information about the man has been released.
