FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Two separate motorcycle crashes on Interstate 29 at the Main Avenue exit in Fargo early Sunday left one rider with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, with both drivers facing DUI charges.
The first crash occurred when 36-year-old Matthew Boucha of Harris, MN, lost control of his motorcycle while taking the exit, causing the bike to slide into the east ditch. Boucha, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Sanford Hospital.
The second crash happened when Jonathan Hinnenkamp,35 of Avon, MN, riding behind Boucha, lost control of his motorcycle while trying to help. His bike rolled down a hill and hit a fence, but he was not injured.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate. The Fargo Police Department and Fargo Fire Department assisted at the scene.
