PARK RAPIDS, Minn. (KFGO) – A northern Minnesota corrections officer suffered multiple stab wounds after being attacked by an inmate.
The Hubbard County sheriff says 23-year-old Cole Pigeon of Bayport made a shank out of a bracelet and used it to stab the officer in the head and face.
The officer was able to fend Pigeon off long enough for other officers to help him. He was treated at the hospital in Park Rapids.
Pigeon said he stalked the officer before he stabbed him and said he will stab more officers every chance he gets.
Pigeon was in jail for a property damage charge and assaulting an officer. He now faces other assault charges.
