The North Dakota Beef Commission is accepting applications from North Dakota FFA juniors and seniors for its Next Generation Beef Producer Pilot Program, designed to develop the next generation of beef producers and introduce students to the different segments of the beef industry.
The program will introduce students to different areas of the beef industry, from cattle production to processing, marketing, genetics, and nutrition. Through hands-on experiences and connections with industry professionals, students will gain a broader perspective of the industry.
“Building a strong future for the beef industry starts with helping the next generation understand it,” said Nicole Wardner, executive director of the North Dakota Beef Commission. “Through this program, we’re investing in industry education and helping students discover how they can contribute to the future of beef.”
Students who complete all five steps will be invited to participate in a Beef Producer Signing Day at their school in the spring of 2027. The event will recognize students’ accomplishments
and give them an opportunity to publicly share their plans for future involvement in the beef industry.
Applications are due November 20, 2026. Interested North Dakota FFA juniors and seniorsshould contact their FFA advisor for program information and application details.
