The University of Minnesota won the “Little Brown Jug” at home for the first time since 1977 with a 20-14 win over Michigan. Running back Darious Taylor had two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving to help lead the Golden Gophers to the victory over the Wolverines for the first time since 2014.
Place kicker Luke Drzewiecki hit field goals from 31 and 26 yards to add to the scoring for Minnesota, while quarterback Drake Lindsey went 17/25 with one touchdown and two interceptions. One of the interceptions was made by former NDSU star Nathaniel Staehling who scored a touchdown on the play.
Kindred, ND native Riley Sunram helped the Gophers on defense recording two tackles and credited with a half a sack.
Minnesota moves to 4-1 on the season, 2-0 in Big Ten Conference play. The Golden Gopher go back on the road next week to face Purdue Saturday night at 7pm.
