11th St. underpass project (MNDOT)
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – The era of underpass construction in Moorhead will soon be over.
The city and the Minnesota Department of Transportation are hosting a ribbon cutting for the 11th St. underpass at the Center Ave. intersection on Wednesday, October 7 at 4:00 PM.
A community block party will take place on Center Ave. near the 9th St. intersection from 5:00 to 8:30 PM. There will be bands and food trucks.
The city says the official opening date for the underpass will be announced at a later date.
“This project represents years of collaboration and investment to improve safety, connectivity, and travel through our community,” A city statement reads.
Construction on the $115 million project began in March 2024.
The $52 million underpass at 20th and 21st Streets and Main Avenue opened in August 2022 after four years of construction.
