(KNFL/KFGO) – Fargo-Moorhead has a new home run king after Jose Sermo blasted his 30th home run of the season. That home run would be the only source of offense for the RedHawks, being held to just one run. The RedHawks would start left hander Patrick Wicklander who would face off against Milwaukee’s lefty Jhordany Mezquita.
The Milkmen would strike first in the top of the first inning, coming from a Delvin Pérez solo home run.
Pérez would add another in the top of the third, when he hit a two out single to right field to drive in a run and give the Milkmen a 2-0 lead.
Jose Sermo would come up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh and would crush a solo home run to set the RedHawks franchise record for home runs in a season. Sermo is also closing in on the American Association career record.
Milwaukee would make it through the rest of the game without allowing a run, giving the Milkmen a 2-1 victory.
RedHawks starter Patrick Wicklander would be credited with the loss after going 7.0 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 5.
Jhordany Mezquita would get the win, going 6.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 6. Ryan Boyer would pick up the save.
