UNITED STATES (KVRR) — Dolly Parton made a huge impact on young kids especially in our region through her “Imagination Library”.
From Fargo and Grand Forks to Detroit Lakes and Crookston and dozens of other towns locally, her free book program helps kids learn how to read.
Once enrolled, kids from birth to age five receive a free book in the mail each month, regardless of family income or background.
Nearly 300 million free books have been given out through the program across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at www.imaginationlibrary.com.
