FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Lamp posts across downtown Fargo are displaying 30 new student-designed banners as part of the 2026 Streetlight Gallery.
The public art installation features original works created by 23 students from North Dakota State University’s School of Design, Art, and Architecture. The banners line Broadway from Seventh Avenue North to Main Avenue and Eighth Street from Main Avenue to First Street South, remaining on display throughout the year.
The featured artwork was selected from NDSU’s 2026 Annual Student Juried Show at the Memorial Union Gallery. This year marks the third year of the collaboration between NDSU, the Downtown Community Partnership, and the Downtown Fargo Business Improvement District. NDSU staff member Carlos Robyal works annually with the downtown groups to select and design the banners.
“Downtown should be a place where our community’s creativity is on display,” said Rocky Schneider, executive director of the Downtown Community Partnership. “The Street Light Gallery gives NDSU students a unique public canvas while making Downtown Fargo more interesting, colorful and connected to our university community.”
The 2026 showcase includes work from student artists Elisha Antoine, Tessa Becker, Anna Christensen, Thomas Christnagel, Cohl Devries, Kaitlyn Evjen, Shiann Fiest, Kendra Green, Jane Gudmundson, Claire Gullacher, Sheridan Hagen, Josie Javers, Evan Liewer, Dionna Martel, Ivy Mastrud, Alicia McIntyre, Mackenzie Melquist, Pauline Arabella Pearson, Crystal Rounsville, Charlie Smart, Maren Strawsell, Gianna Vecellio, and Emily Yoder.
