BEMIDJI, Minn. (KFGO) – The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a floatplane flipping over on Lake Bemidji after two men attempted to land the plane on Lake Bemidji
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says around 4:15 p.m. Friday, they received 911 calls that the plane flipped and started sinking.
The two men on the plane were able to get out safely when the plane came to a rest by Bemidji Town and Country club on the north side of Lake Bemidji.
Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says the pontoons of the float plane prevented the plane from fully sinking underwater.
Along with the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance, Bemidji Police Department, North Country First Responders, and the Minnesota DNR assisted at the scene.
