Lisa Demuth (R-Minn.)
SAINT PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – Republican Lisa Demuth’s plan to combat fraud she would implement if elected Minnesota governor includes working with legislative leaders to crack down on transfers to foreign countries for those on welfare.
Minnesota’s Speaker of the House said noncitizens would only be able to use welfare money in Minnesota.
Demuth would fire all commissioners and deputy commissioners and start a fraud oversite committee led by her Lieutenant Governor, Ryan Wilson.
“We need executive actions to root it out and prevent it in every one of our agencies. Stopping fraud isn’t a one-time action, but it is an ongoing of a change of the culture within state government,” Demuth said.
Demuth also wants to implement a lifetime ban on benefits for anyone convicted of defrauding state programs.
