WEST FARGO (KFGO) – West Fargo Police are warning residents of scam calls that claim to be coming from police chief Pete Nielsen.
Police say the calls appear to be coming from the West Fargo Police Departments main phone number by using caller ID spoofing.
If a resident receives a similar call that appears to come from the police chief or the department, they’re being asked to contact Red River Regional Dispatch.
Police say they can always contact the police department if they receive any suspicious phone call, voice mail or text.
West Fargo police also say to never give out personal or financial information to unsolicited callers.
