CENTER, N.D. (KFGO) – Oliver County State’s Attorney Patrick Waters officially filed a response to North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley this morning regarding a petition asking for his removal as state’s attorney.
Waters wrote in his response he thinks it is unfortunate that residents attack good and true elected officials serving their county. He also wrote that he thinks the petition is not worth the paper it was written on.
The initial complaint detailed 23 allegations against waters, including accusations of a hostile work environment, refusing to charge out cases of public safety and illegally bringing a gun into the Oliver County Courthouse. Waters is providing the Attorney General with responses to all 23 allegations, and his response includes 29 supporting documents.
Waters says he anticipates that the petition for his removal will be dismissed by the Attorney General, and he will be able to get back to serving the people of Oliver County.
