The North Dakota Soybean Council recently welcomed three new directors to its board and recognized the reelection of one returning director. Their official terms began on July 1.
Andy Haugen of Hannaford was elected to represent soybean producers in District 8, which includes Nelson, Griggs, and Steele counties. Haugen farms near Hannaford with his brother, raising soybeans, corn, barley, and seed crops.
Kevin Zikmund of Park River was elected to represent soybean producers in District 10, which includes Cavalier, Pembina, and Walsh counties. Zikmund holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from North Dakota State University (NDSU) and farms with his brother, Tim, raising soybeans, corn, and canola. Their operation also includes a small hog enterprise.
Andrew Doll of New Salem was elected to represent soybean producers in District 12, which includes counties in southwest North Dakota. Doll returned to the family farm after attending South Dakota State University and now farms with his wife, father, and family, raising cow-calf pairs, soybeans, and other crops.
Ted Brandt of Enderlin was reelected to represent soybean producers in District 2, which includes Ransom and Sargent counties. Brandt raises soybeans, corn, and wheat. He has a bachelor’s degree from NDSU and is a member of the Sheyenne Valley Trail Association. He also serves producers nationally as a member of the U.S. Soybean Export Council’s Soy Excellence Center Global Advisory Panel for the 2026-27 term.
“We’re pleased to welcome Andy Haugen, Kevin Zikmund, and Andrew Doll to the North Dakota Soybean Council and look forward to the perspectives they bring on behalf of producers across the state,” noted Stephanie Sinner, executive director of NDSC. “We also congratulate Ted Brandt on his reelection. Together, these farmer-leaders will help guide the Council’s efforts to invest soybean checkoff dollars in programs that deliver value to North Dakota soybean farmers.”
