FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Fargo mayor Josh Boschee, along with two city commissioners, were sworn into their new positions during the city commission meeting Monday night.
After the swearing in, the commission approved a Cul-de-Sac near 47th Avenue South and pushed amending the city’s century code to allow the extension of the infrastructure tax approved by voters.
The commission ran into issues approving a fence around the east parking lot of the Fargo Police Department. They agreed to return to the subject at the next meeting.
The commission also approved the appointment of Commissioner John Strand as Deputy Mayor, but the commission was silent during a call to second the motion, leaving Strand to second the motion himself.
Overall, the new mayor says he’s looking forward to the next four years.
“It’s great to finally be able to serve. You know I’ve been asking to be hired for the last six months, voters made a decision, and now they actually get to see me in action. I’ve had lots of experience running meetings. This feels a little different when it’s right here at home. But looking forward to working with this commission specifically,” said Boschee.
Mayor Boschee will be meeting with commissioners in the coming days to discuss duties and assigning roles moving forward.
