(KNFL/KFGO) – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were looking for the sweep of the Kansas City Monarchs on Sunday afternoon.
Kansas City’s Austin Callahan started the scoring with a 2-run double in the top of the 1st.
Trevor Boone and Ryan Leitch would hit solo home runs in the top of the 2nd to make it 4-0.
After a sacrifice fly by J.D Davis, Luken Baker hit a 2-run homer to increase the lead to 7-0 Monarchs.
Jose Sermo would get the RedHawks on a solo home run in the bottom of the 4th to make it 7-1.
Austin Callahan drove in a run on a fielder’s choice in the top of the 6th, before Sahid Venezuela hit an RBI single to make it a 9-1 lead for Kansas City.
In the bottom of the 9th, Jairus Richards would drive in a run on an RBI double. Kansas City would end up winning 9-2.
