BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – A North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper in Bismarck narrowly avoided serious injury yesterday after the door of his squad car was hit by an impaired driver.
The Highway Patrol says the Trooper was about to exit the squad during a traffic stop when a passing car didn’t move over and hit the door.
The driver was arrested at the scene by the Bismarck Police Department, they admitted to texting at the time of the crash. Troopers say his breath test measured a .20. They’re facing charges of DUI, open container and driving without insurance.
