FARGO (KFGO) – The Cass County sheriff’s office says a second arrest has been made after an investigation into the trafficking of narcotics in the spring of 2024 at the Cass County Jail. Daria Renville, 34 of Sisseton was arrested in South Dakota and transferred to the Cass County Jail nearly two years after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation began after narcotics were sent to the jail through the inmate mail system. In November of 2024, Amar Kovacevic, 32, Fargo, plead guilty charges of attempting to distribute drugs in a correctional facility. A warrant was issued for Renville in October of the same year.

Sheriff Jahner commended the collaboration between the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the USPIS Task Force, whose work was instrumental in advancing the investigation.
“Whether narcotics are being trafficked outside of the jail or inside of it, holding individuals accountable will always remain a top priority. When it relates to narcotics trafficking, we will always prioritize protecting not only those within our correctional system but also the safety of our entire community. This case is another example where countless hours and sustained effort paid off and eliminated anyone getting hurt.” Jahner said.
Renville faces charges of drug distribution in a correctional facility and possession.
