Donald William Henrikson, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the Frazee Care Center.
Donald was born on December 9, 1935, in Audubon to Albert and Myrtle Henrikson. He attended school in Audubon and spent his life rooted in the values of faith, family, and hard work.
On October 29, 1960, Donald married Patsy Isaac. Together, they built a life centered on family, farming, and raising their four children.
In 1958, Donald began farming. In 1964, he purchased part of the original Henrikson family farm. He raised dairy cattle for many years as well as growing various crops. A portion of the farm remains in the Henrikson family today.
In 1980, Donald purchased Henrikson’s Grocery in Henning, MN. He enjoyed serving the community and valued the friendships formed during his years as a local business owner. Donald later sold the grocery store and returned to the family farm.
Donald’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished his relationship with Jesus Christ and was among the original founders of the Community Alliance Church, in Detroit Lakes, MN.
In retirement, Donald enjoyed gardening with his wife, Pat. Many admired the immaculate yard he maintained along County Road 11, a place cared for with pride and enjoyed by all who passed by.
Donald will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith, love for his family, and lifelong commitment to the land.
He is survived by his children, Keith Henrikson (Lori Leek), Cindy Jorud (Mike), Elizabeth Svare (Jeff), and Tim Henrikson (Marcy); seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
