GOOSEBERRY FALLS (MINNESOTA DNR)
TWO HARBORS, Minn. – A state park in northeastern Minnesota is being honored as the best state park in the country.
Gooseberry Falls was voted as the nation’s top state park by voters in the USA Today’s Readers Choice Awards. Readers voted from a list of 20 state parks over a four-week period.
Minnesota D-N-R Commissioner Sarah Strommen says Gooseberry Falls is an iconic example of incredible natural spaces that make Minnesota a great place to visit and live.
Gooseberry Falls was established as a state park in 1937. It has been the most visited state park in Minnesota in seven of the last 10 years.
