DILWORTH, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) – Minnesota state Sen. Rob Kupec and area leaders gathered at the Dilworth Fire Hall to highlight the need for a bonding bill.
Kupec says the Dilworth Fire Hall is an example of what bonding bills can accomplish, as about half of the $9 million price tag was paid for by a bonding bill. He says numerous towns and counties in Minnesota desperately need this money for public works projects.
The Moorhead Democrat says if a bill is not passed, the price tag for those projects is only going to increase.
“That’s why this is important, to have things like this today,” he said. “I think it’s important for all of those communities across Minnesota – because it doesn’t matter whether you’re Republican or Democrat, people need this money in their communities to help keep that infrastructure up.”
Kupec added that he believes the Senate would pass any bill with bipartisan support, but the House is where things could get complicated. He urged constituents to contact their representatives to ask them to get this done.
