Fire destroys home near Battle Lake (photo/Battle Lake Fire Dept.)
BATTLE LAKE, Minn. (KFGO) – A rural Battle Lake home has been destroyed by fire.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says dispatch received a call shortly before noon yesterday Sunday about a deck fire at the home on County Highway 83, northwest of Battle Lake. The flames quickly spread to the remainder of the home.
Two adults and six young children living in the home got out safely. The house and most of the family’s belongings were destroyed.
The Battle Lake and Underwood Fire Departments responded to the scene.
