INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. – A former northern Minnesota high school hockey coach is accused of stealing nearly $10,000 from a team booster club.
Bryan Kershaw, the former head coach of the International Falls High School Girls’ Hockey team, has been charged with felony theft in Koochiching County District Court.
According to court documents, booster club members contacted police after after a fundraising event last November.
Prosecutors say Kershaw told the fundraising company to issue a check directly to him, instead of the booster organization. Board members say they repeatedly contacted Kershaw about the missing money. They say he promised to repay the money, but never did.
