Would someone please tell me where the hell we are with Iran? What are our goals and why are we there in the first place? If you’ve done your homework, you know that with Trump, those answers keep changing. As far as I can remember, it began with Iranian protestors being slaughtered for speaking out against an evil regime that needed to change. Then it shifted to supporting our ally Israel in the efforts they were about to take against Iran. Then it went to stopping the imminent threat they posed to us: nuclear war. And now we continue because we need to open the Strait of Hormuz.
There are probably more but those are the ones I remember.
So here we sit with protestors being abandoned and told now it’s up to them. No regime change other than father to son. Israel is doing everything it can to keep the war going. We have no proof whatsoever that we have eliminated the enriched uranium, and there are still many questions when it comes to the Strait of Hormuz.
And Trump’s answer to all of that is to call for a ceasefire, declare victory and head home. Or wipe out an entire civilization just because he can.
We’re paying a price for Trump’s war. Part of the price is money. As high as a billion dollars at its worst. Another is respect. Our allies can’t respect us anymore because they know the President lies. And because they know the majority of Americans voted for this man.
And the most significant cost is the loss of life. The soldiers who were killed and wounded. The children killed simply because they attended school that day.
And don’t forget the other problem. Now they think they won. That they’ve taken the best punch America can give, yet they’re still standing.
All because Trump chose to go to war. And we can all guess why.
