MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – A man in his 70s has died a little over a week after being assaulted in a downtown Minneapolis apartment building.
On Sunday, April 5, officers responded to a report of an unconscious man in a hallway. First responders took the man to Hennepin Healthcare.
Investigators say surveillance video shows the victim getting struck by another man after a brief argument. The investigation led to the arrest of 61-year-old Michael Walker, a resident of the building.
The victim died Tuesday.
Walker was facing first-degree assault charges. Police Chief Brian O’Hara says those charges are expected to be amended to include homicide.
