Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting (KFGO file)
MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting is running for a third term.
Empting, in making the announcement, says it’s been an honor and privilege to serve the county over the past seven years. He says he remains fully committed to protecting public safety and strengthening the trust between his office and the communities.
Empting has also been a member of the Dilworth Fire Department for nearly 35 and was fire chief from 2013 to 2022. He’s also 2nd Vice President of the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association and is co-chair of its legislative committee.
So far, no one has announced a challenge to Empting. The election is in November.
