BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO/Prairie Public) – Search committee members have been busy this winter as the North Dakota University System looks to seat three campus presidents.
Updates were provided this week to the Research and Governance Committee and all three are nearing completion.
Higher Education Board Member Lisa Montplaiser says NDSU has gained a lot of attention with about 60 applicants.
“Our next president is in that pool. It’s a robust list, I am very impressed with a significant number of the candidates.”
The NDSU search committee is looking to have finalists to the Board of Higher Education to consider by late March or early April.
At Valley City State University, a six-week application window recently opened, with the collection of names through the end of March.
University System Chancellor Brent Sanford has worked with the committee for the Bismarck State College presidency.
“It was a very broad representation from across the country for types of institutions they’re represented by, a few actually have polytechnic experience, and a few of them are actually in-state candidates. So I think it’ll be a really good cross-section for the campus visits and then to see who makes it through at that point to the board,” said Sanford.
Bismarck State College has narrowed its list of 40 applicants to six and will be inviting them to campus for visits and interviews.
