MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A Moorhead man was arrested early Saturday morning after leading law enforcement on a pursuit that began in North Dakota and ended in Minnesota.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they determined Nicholas Wessels, 39, had active arrest warrants during a traffic stop and Wessels fled the scene after being told he was under arrest. The pursuit began on Cass County Road 17 and ended in Minnesota after Wessels’ vehicle crashed due to flat tires caused by deflating devices placed by the Cass and Clay County Sheriffs Offices as well as Moorhead Police.
Wessels briefly fled on foot after the crash but was quickly arrested. There were two female passengers in the vehicle, they were not injured during the crash and pursuit. Wessels is in the Clay County Jail.
