BINFORD, N.D. (KFGO) — The Griggs County Sheriffs Office is looking for information after they say a plane reported being hit by a laser beam.
The pilot reported the laser while flying northwest of Binford. Deputies searched the field the laser reportedly originated from, but did not find anyone.
The Sheriff’s Office says no harm was done this time, but lasers can temporarily blind pilots and causing eye damage, putting lives at risk. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Griggs County Sheriff’s Office.
Pointing a laser at a plane is a federal offense, and can result in up to 5 years in prison.
