FARGO (KFGO) — The State Board of Higher Education has chosen former Congressman and businessman Rick Berg to serve as Interim President for North Dakota State University.
Berg will take over for President David Cook who is taking a position in Iowa.
Berg served 26 years in the North Dakota House of Representatives before serving one term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Berg’s private sector career included real estate and development. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from NDSU.
He will start the role on February 9th. NDSU hopes to hire a permanent president by late spring.
