UNDATED – Longtime Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is officially retiring from the NFL.
“What a ride it has been!” Thielen said in a social media post “13 years, what a blessing!”
The Detroit Lakes native signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State Mankato in 2013 and spent parts of ten seasons with the team. Thielen, 35, played two years with the Carolina Panthers before being traded back to Minnesota this fall. Thielen finished this season with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being waived by the Vikings in December.
Thielen is fifth on the Vikings franchise all-time list with 6,751 receiving yards, fourth with 542 receptions, and third with 55 touchdowns.
