Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office
BRAINERD, Minn. (KFGO) – The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office in central Minnesota says three vehicles broke through the ice over the last two days.
Officials responded to the incidents on Pelican Lake, east of Pequot Lakes and north of Brainerd.
Emergency responders say the recent calls are a reminder that ice travel remains risky. Ice thickness can change quickly and without warning.
The sheriff’s office says, what appears safe in one spot may not be just a short distance away.
If you’re heading out on the ice, use extra caution to ensure everyone gets home safe.
